DIPLOMATE CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION
The Diplomate Certifying Examination for the ACVCP consists of two parts, Phase I and Phase II.
In order to become eligible to take Phase I of the Diplomate Certifying Examination, a candidate must be enrolled in OR have completed an ACVCP Training program (residency) that has been approved by the ACVCP Education Committee.
In order to become eligible to take Phase II of the Diplomate Certifying Examination, a candidate must have completed an ACVCP Training program (residency) that has been approved by the ACVCP Education Committee by the time the candidate sits for the exam.
The Phase I Examination is a multiple choice examination designed to evaluate the candidate's knowledge of general pharmacology. Candidates must
submit the "Application for Phase I" by October 1 of the year prior to the exam to be eligible. Following acceptance of your application, you must
complete the "Intent to Sit Phase I or Phase II" form by February 1.
The Phase II Examination is a written examination designed to evaluate both the breadth and depth of the candidate's knowledge and skills as a veterinary clinical pharmacologist. Candidates must
submit the "Application for Phase II" by October 1 of the year prior to the exam to be eligible. Following acceptance of your application, you must
complete the "Intent to Sit Phase I or Phase II" form by February 1.
