• In order to be eligible to take Phase I of the certifying process, the candidate must notify the ACVCP of their intent to become an ACVCP Diplomate by completing the on-line registration form and providing the registration fee as well as two letters of reference. Read this page in its entirety before you proceed.
• First, request access to the ACVCP application system. You will receive a username and password from the ACVCP Webmaster.
• Once you have received an ACVCP username and password, return to this page using the online application system. During the registration process you will be asked to provide detailed contact information for yourself, identify the ACVCP-approved training program in which you are enrolled or from which you have matriculated, and provide names and contact information for two references. When you complete the registration portion of the application process, you must request (via a link in the application system menu) a review of this information by the college. Following a successful review, you may notify ACVCP of your intent to take a particular Phase I exam.
• Review fees associated with registration. To view a complete list of fees associated with application, credentials review, and examinations; select "Fees" on the menu above.
• The registration fee and the two letters of reference must be received by the Secretary-Treasurer of the ACVCP at the address indicated below for the registration to be considered complete. Candidates who do not receive an email confirming receipt of their registration within 24 hours of submission should contact the ACVCP webmaster (jwilcke@vt.edu) for verification.
• The candidate will be notified of the Board's final decision regarding their eligibility to take Phase I of the Diplomate Certifying Examination within 2 months of the time when the registration is deemed complete.

In order to successfully register with the ACVCP and become eligible for Phase I, a candidate must:

1. identify an ACVCP Diplomate to serve as supervisor or mentor, AND
2. be enrolled in an approved ACVCP training program under the supervision or mentorship of the ACVCP Diplomate identified above, AND
3. complete the online registration form, AND
4. send a registration fee of $75 US at the time of registration, AND
5. provide two letters of reference.
